WHY MOVEMENT SUPPORTS WELL-BEING AND LEARNING
Movement is a powerful foundation for children’s physical, social & emotional development. It supports emotional safety, engagement & inclusion, aligning with the Australian Student Wellbeing Framework & the Mental Health in Primary Schools initiative.

PHYSICAL HEALTH
& WELLBEING
Movement strengthens coordination, balance, and body awareness while supporting overall physical wellbeing. Children learn how their bodies move, feel more confident in their abilities, and build healthy habits that set them up for lifelong health.

EMOTIONAL EXPRESSION & REGULATION
Movement and creative play give children a safe outlet to express big feelings, release tension, and return to a calm, focused state. They learn emotional awareness, breathing strategies, and how to regulate their bodies and emotions in a supportive environment.

CONFIDENCE, RESILIENCE & SELF-BELIEF
Achievable, enjoyable activities help children experience success, try new things, and persist when something feels challenging. This builds strong self‑belief, resilience, and a sense of “I can do this,” both in class and in everyday life.

SOCIAL SKILLS, FRIENDSHIP & INCLUSION
Group activities build teamwork, communication, empathy, and positive peer relationships. Children learn how to cooperate, take turns, resolve conflict respectfully, and feel part of a connected, inclusive community, reducing isolation and negative peer interactions.

SAFE, NO-PRESSURE ENVIRONMENT
No comparison, no competition, no pressure to perform. A predictable structure supports emotional safety, while varied activities ensure every child, regardless of ability or learning style, feels successful, included, and celebrated.

STRENGTHENING SCHOOL & FAMILY CULTURE
The program supports school readiness, engagement, and positive classroom participation. Children develop regulation, focus, empathy, and communication, skills that strengthen family relationships and contribute to a connected, respectful school community.
